Evaluation Procedures

1. For 4th-8th grade teams, there will be one "A" team at each grade level. This team will consist of approximately 10 players. The remainder of the children will be placed on "B" teams with the goal of making the "B" teams as even as possible.

2 . Evaluations will take place at Kent Middle School in the main gym.

3. Parents should plan to have their players check in 15 minutes prior to their session. Our skills evaluation sessions will be closed and parents will not be allowed to remain and observe. Our goal is to provide a fun and pressure-free environment to demonstrate their skills. We also want to allow our outside evaluators, coaches and volunteers the ability to communicate easily.

4. Our skills evaluation process involves a ton of coordination. Our goal is always to have an outside evaluator, the grade level coordinator and the coaches attend the evaluation .

5.  Marin CYO is organized by grade. "Playing up" (playing on a team above your current grade level in school) is not allowed.

6.  CYO league play officially begins at 4th grade. The 3rd grade league plays games outside of CYO, but we organize that as well.

We're looking forward to seeing you all over the next few weeks. Feel free to reach our if you have any questions.
